D-G calls on MMA to settle matter

PUTRAJAYA: Health director-general Datuk Seri Dr Hasan Abdul Rahman has called on disagreeing groups in the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) to settle their differences and come up with solutions to the de-registration of the association.
Commenting on the issue, Dr Hasan said the MMA is needed as it is an important non-governmental organisation that represents Malaysian medical professionals on issues concerning the betterment of the country.
“As a member of the MMA, I am frustrated with this situation.
“When there is a problem, all members involved should come together to solve it. I am sure, as members of the association, it is not our intention to get the MMA de-registered,” Dr Hasan said.
Dr Hasan said MMA's de-registration is a painful lesson for its members to learn.
“I hope this issue will be resolved soon,” he added. TheStar
